Ericsson One, an internal venture studio that brings ground-breaking ideas and new products to market is now looking for a Sr. Applied Research Scientist to help build the 3D future of human connection.

Project Spectre has recently been awarded Ericsson’s 2020 Top Performance Award for Innovation and is now coming out of stealth. Spectre plans to use Ericsson’s worldwide scale to launch a ground-breaking product that sits at the intersection of deep learning, computer vision, computer graphics and XR (VR/AR).

You will

• Be responsible for extending the state-of-the-art in deep generative modeling, deep audio and language modeling, deep and traditional computer vision to push the boundaries of digital human technologies
• Work closely with research engineers to turn successful experiments and models into robust, optimized algorithms suitable for hand-off to production
• Work closely with 3D graphics and modeling specialists to develop insights and novel techniques sitting at the intersection of your fields
  

To be successful in the role you must have

• 3+ years of hands-on research experience in deep generative modeling, deep computer vision, or deep audio and language modeling (ideal candidate has all three), exemplified by relevant contributions to open-source, industry, or academia
• Extensive knowledge of neural networks
• Extensive experience carrying out large-scale neural architecture and hyperparameter searches, particularly with a system like Ray
• Experience with deep learning frameworks, such as PyTorch
• Comfortable operating with on-prem or custom machine learning infrastructure
• Experience with Python
• M.S. in relevant technical field
  

Additional Requirements

• Experience with traditional machine learning techniques, exemplified by important contributions to open-source, industry, or academia
• Experience with nonlinear optimization, exemplified by significant contributions to open-source, industry, or academia
• Experience optimizing your research (particularly GPU-based machine learning) for real-time applications on resource-constrained devices
• Experience driving machine learning systems from research to prototype to production
• Experience with C++, CUDA
• Proven publication track record at Tier I conferences such as SIGGRAPH, CVPR, NIPS, ECCV, ICCV, ICML, etc.
• Ph.D. in relevant technical field
