Description
SAIC is looking for an entry to junior to mid-level research engineer to support the development, evaluation, and testing of munition systems for the United States Air Force. Specifically, it involves the development of real-time and non-real-time physics based simulations and simulation databases to support the full spectrum of testing to include algorithm in the loop testing, integrated system simulation testing, component and system modeling, and hardware in the loop testing. The successful applicant will work with senior personnel to develop models, simulations, databases, and support tools to aid in these tests. In addition, the applicant will be required to support the development of hardware and software interfaces unique to test units, including the development of scene generation, image processing, virtual reality, along with Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) development. The applicant will be expected to document processes, procedures, and test results, and report these to their program supervisor.
Qualifications
Minimum Tangible Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience.
- Programming Skills such as Python, C++, MatLab, Simulink, Java, Assembly
- Hardware and software interface and development skills
- Familiarity with both Windows and UNIX
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science
- Experience in advanced computational techniques (parallel programming in both GPU and CPU)
- Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) development
- Ability to work on a team with other engineers to develop test systems and simulations
- Experience with simulation development, Simulink, or other simulation tools
- Able to communicate ideas clearly and efficiently
- Perform test and analyses to verify and validate algorithm and/or component and/or system performance
- Understanding of control system stability and performance criteria
- Develop, verify, and validate component and system level models
- Perform simulation configuration management and control and produce simulation documentation
- Image Processing, Augmented reality, Virtual reality, and scene generation
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation development
- Microprocessor interface and assembly level programming
- Understanding of Open Architecture Systems
- Master’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science; B.S required
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance.
