Hardware Engineer IV 6 months Sunnyvale, CA Summary ARVR focuses on delivering vision through Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). The compute performance and power efficiency requirements of ARVR require custom silicon. Silicon team is driving the state-of-the-art forward with breakthrough work in computer vision, machine learning, mixed reality, graphics, displays, sensors, and new ways to map the human body. Our chips will enable ARVR devices where our real and virtual world will mix and match throughout the day. We believe the only way to achieve our goals is to look at the entire stack, from transistors, through architecture, to firmware, and algorithms. As part of our silicon team, you will help with analysis of workloads, lead powerperformance modeling, measurement, and analysis efforts, and contribute towards the development of micro-benchmarks. The ideal candidate for this role will have an excellent grasp on SoC architecture, experience with thermally constrained performance optimization on mobile devices, familiarity with power and performance measurement tools and analyzers, comfortable in operating in a cross-functional environment, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. ARVR ARCHITECTURE MODELING ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES - Perform modeling at the right level of abstraction given model purpose. - Functional and Performance modeling of IP components and use cases for specific IPs. - Performance bottleneck analysis. - Functional Debug of use cases w.r.t high level models. - Tool development to help in functional and performance debug activities - Work across disciplines, brainstorm big ideas, build new methodologies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Experience with programming (C++) and scripting (Python) - Familiarity with Instruction Set Simulators. - 2+ years of experience with SystemCTLM2 programming. - Experience with SoC Architecture, NoCs, memory subsystems, and heterogeneous compute principles. - Solid computer architecture experience, including CPU and CVML accelerators - MSEE or CS degree PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 7+ years of experience with C++ programming. - Experience with bare-metal programming, micro-benchmarking, etc. - Previous experience with Computer Vision and Machine Learning algorithms. - Previous experience with GUI development with the Qt framework in C++ - Team collaboration and communication skills Comments Must have Functional Modeling Strong C++Python coding skills and past functional modeling experience is the main requirement Coding interview will answer general coding problems.
