We are looking for an exceptional Business Unit Controller/Finance Partner who can lead the Finance function for one of the three business units within the Light and Motion Division of MKS. In this newly created position, you will partner closely with the Divisional VP/GM and his leadership team to drive the growth of the business, using your financial expertise, business acumen, and thought leadership skills to influence key decisions and to proactively champion change where needed. This is an individual contributor role in which you will lead a matrixed/dotted line worldwide team, seamlessly collaborating across organizational boundaries. Working with the global Finance team, you will manage all aspects of the close and forecast processes and will financially support business strategy initiatives.  


  • Lead all forecasting and analysis activities for the Business Unit, including the annual Plan of Record, Quarterly and Monthly Business Reviews, and Strategic Planning process. Drive forecast accuracy, efficiency and continuous improvement, using the process to influence strategic and/or operational change where needed to grow the business.      
  • Lead the monthly close process for the Business Unit, working through the worldwide finance team and ensuring process fidelity and efficiency. Develop, analyze, and interpret financial information to evaluate performance against budget.
  • Partner with senior leadership to help guide decision-making, based on sound financial and business analysis. Routinely assess financial risks and opportunities and deliver analytical insight to proactively drive revenue and margin growth.
  • Provide creative insights to the leadership team through active engagement in key business processes, including Low Volume/Low Margin Reviews, Profit and Cash, reviews of large Customer deals, etc.
  • Crisply and clearly articulate key messages to senior leadership, translating financial data and analysis into insights and recommendations that influence the optimal actions to drive growth

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill large amounts of data down to the few, actionable key messages
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, or a related discipline. 10 years of progressive Finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
