You will create and lead a Product Integrity engineering team responsible for ensuring that Product meet all the industry standard and customer expectation.

The Mixed Reality Product Integrity team innovates and develops hardware and software tests for products across the entire Mixed Reality Devices portfolio.

Job Purpose

As the Director for Product Integrity - Factory NPI & Process Validation, you will take a critical role in the development of new technologies, implementing new processes, and developing test methodologies for our Mixed reality product lines. The Product Integrity team is responsible for overall product quality and alignment with customer expectations, including areas such as: Safety, EMC, Reliability, Power consumption, HW/SW validation and NPI & Factory validation.

The Factory NPI & Process validation lead will drive flawless execution of NPI (New Product Introduction), manage evaluation builds, drive yields and test times, improve process flow and drive for continuous process improvement. This will be done in full coordination and cooperation with the Design Validation and Development teams.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Build and lead a team of managers and engineers who are responsible for implementing, deploying and maintaining our manufacturing lines.
  • Lead a team of managers and engineers that drive Best-In-Class manufacturing KPI’s (Key Product Indicators). The KPI’s include Test Times, Yields, 1st pass yields, cycle times, Manufacturing Failure Analysis and DPM among others.
  • Partner with the test development and technology validation teams to enable DFx (Design for Test, Manufacturing, Debug etc).
  • Working Closely with Architecture team and Technology teams to define the test requirements for the next generation of user experience in MR.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional hardware and software engineering teams.
  • Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement.
  • Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the cross functional partner teams.
  • Work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and on-boarding new employees.
  • Manage engineers and help them develop their careers, assigning them to projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles.
  • Acquiring and developing talent and ensuring the overall team health
We are looking for the following competencies and qualifications in a candidate:
  • Passionate about people and org leadership: You should have 15+ years of experience managing multi-discipline teams. This role will set clear decision-making process and accountability for the team to achieve goals and commitments.   • Global development and business experience: You should show a proven ability to work cross-group, delivering products and services for a global market, partnering with development teams based in Redmond and in other locations around the world.
  • Comfortable executing in organizations comprised of Development, Test, and Program Management: You should have experience working within these disciplines, preferably focusing on hardware, software or consumer electronic devices.
  • Experience with hardware, software, & services: Our ideal candidate will boast a proven ability to collaborate across disciplines to deliver products that incorporate hardware, software and services.
This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services governed by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Due to contractual limitations and ITAR obligations associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C.

Requirements

These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Software or Hardware Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software or Hardward Design, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required
  • 10 years' minimum experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, New Product Introduction (NPI), Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Software or Hardware Design, and/or Software or Hardware Test or Validation
Preferred Qualifications
  • 20+ years of experience focusing on product validation - preferably with experience throughout the product lifecycle, from initial design to final product delivery
  • Successful experience with developing products from concept to in-market launch
  • Experience shipping consumer products.
  • Demonstrated experience leading by influencing and working effectively across functions
  • Experience supporting, coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and shipping Complex Products (HW and SW)
  • Experience in managing managers.
  • Experience Leading multiple test teams for various sub-systems e.g., Camera, Display, Sensors, Wireless.
  • Multiple years of experience leading international organizations comprising 100+ people
  • Experience working with international technology suppliers
  • General understanding of Mixed Reality and related technologies
  • Overall understanding of key test methodologies and processes involved with ASIC, electronics, mechanical and software design
