You are a hands-on mechanical engineer or product designer who enjoys working in a demanding, fast-paced environment as part of a tight-knit engineering team. You want to work on cool projects, enjoy learning new skills, and love getting your hands dirty. You thrive on interdisciplinary projects that require integrating electronics, optics, mechanical elements, and whatever other crazy stuff needs to fit in there. You can figure out just about anything, like working on something new and different every day, and love solving problems. You are a generalist with interests across many different engineering and technology disciplines, enjoy building quick prototypes with your hands, iterating quickly, and doing “whatever it takes” to get the project across the finish line.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide Project Management & Mechanical Engineering technical support during the design, construction and documentation phases of capital projects.
  • Implement projects as a project manager while providing mechanical engineering lead expertise for small to mid-size capital and non-capital projects
  • Define scope and alternatives for capital projects and provide engineering support from feasibility, front end engineering, construction, and project start-up
  • Design, specify, install and troubleshoot process modifications and equipment for projects
  • Communicate with contracted engineers while being able to work individually
  • Provide CMR (contractor management representative) support to assure oversight of job execution
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to manufacturing operations, trouble-shoot upset situations and support maintenance shutdowns
  • Investigate, recommend and implement new technology for continuous improvements


Qualifications


  • 3-5+ years of mechanical design experience
  • Advanced 3D CAD modeling skills using SolidWorks or Fusion360
  • Experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and manufacturing processes
  • DFM/ general dimensioning and tolerancing experience/understanding
  • Tech-savvy with working knowledge of VR and location-based entertainment (Preferred)
  • Wood/Metal shop experience, shop safety, and best practices
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
  • A collaborative approach with varying titles and departments, managing personality types
  • Organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • “Whatever it takes to get it done” attitude for the entirety of the project life-cycle
  • Experience drafting, excellent written and verbal communication with a hyper-focus on detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design, or equivalent work experience
