Come be a part of the Facebook AR/VR organization as an artist building world-class products that span AR and VR. We are focused on building people-first experiences and believe that AR/VR will help define the future of online interaction. As a VFX artist, you will effectively collaborate with a wide range of disciplines such as product design, engineers, producers, product managers, and art direction to ideate, improve art pipelines, and build assets to define the future of AR/VR.
Responsibilities
- Concept, create, and implement visual effects for real time virtual reality
- Prototype and iterate on ideas and the creation process
- Collaborate with environment artists, concept artists, designers, and engineers
- Collaborate with other VFX artists and the Art Director to develop and maintain artistic styles and content
- Optimize effects to run efficiently at high frame rates while sustaining high visual fidelity
- Develop vertex shaders and mesh based effects for optimal use and visual impact in VR
- Contribute to development of proprietary VFX tools
Minimum Qualification
- 3+ years experience working in game or film in the role of Visual Effects Artist
- Experience or demonstrable knowledge of a modern game engine (Unreal, Unity, etc.)
- Experience in 3D content creation in a software package (Maya, Modo, 3ds Max, Houdini)
- Knowledge in node based shader/material creation
Preferred Qualification
- Experience with Virtual Reality VFX
- Experience with mobile VFX
- Knowledge of rendering pipelines/content optimization
- Experience in Unreal Engine 4 Blueprints
- Experience writing and editing HLSL/GLSL shaders
