About The Job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Our goal is to build a Google that looks like the world around us — and we want Googlers to stay and grow when they join us. As part of our efforts to build a Google for everyone, we build diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging throughout the company.

You will drive prioritization and implementation of the different Perception workstreams, set up team processes and milestones, run sprints, track progress, dependencies, risks and manage communication and reporting. You will be partnering closely with the cross-functional teams, such as product, UX design, UX research studies, data collection, and testing to help unblock and ensure the success of the Perception teams with quality and velocity.

Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our Devices & Services team combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences for users. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people's lives better through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Technical Program Managers or Engineering Program Managers in Hardware to do the following: drive the Software components for New Technology Integration programs, define data feedback loop, guide sensor/component validation strategies, drive algorithm development, lead roadmap definitions, and plan for user testing.
  • Drive overall Perception program execution, remove roadblocks, identify and escalate risks, and report progress to leadership.
  • Identify, communicate, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive impact and work toward mutual goals. Partner with software teams to ensure algorithm and ML model delivery and track dependencies. Be a key stakeholder in defining user KPIs and benchmarking strategies and a cross-functional leader to ensure that our perception capabilities meet KPIs and launch criteria.
  • Design and build high-level dashboards and scrip libraries to evaluate product market fit and product functionality, health, and performance.
