This engineer role will be a part of an advanced optical film development team. In this role, you will work with a highly collaborative team to scale advanced liquid crystal films that unlock new architectures for AR/VR products.

Responsibilities
  • Develop process and new materials for advancing liquid crystal optical films
  • Owner of engineering specifications and requirements to ensure quality parts in high volume manufacturing
  • Coordinate with external vendors to deliver advanced optical films for new product introductions
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally up to 25%
Minimum Qualification
  • MS in relevant engineering discipline with 1+ year of relevant lab experience in academia or industry or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in translating complex ideas into digestible messages
  • Experience in roll-to-roll film process, precision alignment and patterning processes and/or liquid crystal and photo-alignment materials
  • Experience in different methods of how polarizing and diffraction elements are made

Preferred Qualification
  • MS Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of industry work experience or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with AR/VR optics and display optics (LCD and OLED)
  • Experience building polarization and diffraction films using polarization exposure, electron beam patterning or other patterning methods
  • Experience in polarization and diffraction
  • Experience in polarization-based metrology tools
