Essential Functions

This role will be part of a team developing and deploying our client’s IIOT platforms, analytic and machine learning applications, and augmented reality experiences. Our team uses the ThingWorx IIOT foundation for our services that will be deployed using standard apps and customized solutions, extended with additional FactoryTalk InnovationSuite technologies.

Solution and Experimentation Lead

The Solution and Experimentation (SE) Lead role is a leadership position to drive experimentation, solution strategy and solution development for the Analytics Solutions Group (ASG). This role will help craft and refine ASG’s approach for developing reusable solutions to meet customer requirements in IIOT, advanced analytics (AA) and Extended Reality (XR), drive commercialization activities of the solutions, transition the solutions to ASG Engineering teams for deployment, and lead any experimentation activities required to support technical validation of solution offerings. This individual will coordinate with other Center of Excellence (CoE) staff to pull in domain expertise in IIOT, AA, and XR, as well as engineering teams for platform development capabilities. The SE Lead will be responsible for the development and advancement of the ASG Application Library, along with associated artifacts, to improve sales, delivery, and support effectiveness.

Functional
  • Drives the formulation and development of potential solution offerings, capabilities and experiments for FactoryTalk InnovationSuite and related technologies,
  • Fosters a mindset of innovation, experimentation, and rapid execution in ASG.
  • Keeps pace with emerging software and services in IIOT, XR and advanced analytics, and promotes technical competency throughout ASG.
  • Develops and curates the ASG Application Library to promote solutions that target beneficial customer outcomes.
  • Manages ASG Lab environments for experimentation and application development.
  • Demonstrates detailed experience in software design techniques, principles, and best practices, along with the ability to accurately estimate effort required to deliver software to meet design specifications.

  • Effectively plans, hires, and manages resources assigned to projects.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Willing and able to travel and work at client sites. Travel can vary on assignment from 0% to 100% but can average 30%.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in software project delivery, preferably in manufacturing environments
  • 2+ years of experience in agile development and user experience research and design (UXR/D)
  • Knowledge of functional workings of common application and data infrastructures.
  • Experience with Azure hosting and VMWare environments.
  • Experience with the design and configuration of Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk Analytics, ProductionCentre Application Suites (CPG Suite or PharmaSuite), PTC ThingWorx, Vuforia & Kepware
  • Experience with software design methodologies
