Remote Optical Engineer
We are looking for a person to work with a small team of optical engineers in developing illumination modules for AR and VR applications. They should have a solid background in optical design fundamentals and in illumination design and analysis utilizing non-sequential ray tracing tools.
Modeling and prototyping of critical technologies to drive system performance and to validate achievable visual experience
Support evaluation and characterization of illumination components, and system integration
Drive supplier choice, interaction and management in order to deliver prototypes in support of concept demonstrations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years experience in product development of illumination optics or photonic systems
3+ years of experience with illumination optical design tools and methods in Zemax sequential & non-sequential, and familiarity of scripting (MATLAB or Python) for the analysis
3+ years of experience with laboratory work in setting up of optical systems & testers, experience with methods and tools for mass producing illumination modules
3+ years of experience with optics technologies with one or more of the following: illumination, radiometry/photometry, imaging
Experience working with minimal direction and managing a project independently from start to finish
Experience working and collaborating in a cross-functional team environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PhD or equivalent experience in the field of Optical Sciences, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar field
Experience in radiometric calibration and Signal To Noise measurement and modeling of imaging systems.
