What You’ll Be Doing...

Our team is working on 5G Mobile Edge Computing, AR/VR, and 360 video solutions to build Collaboration tools on Verizon’s next generation 5G network. We are focused on enabling enterprises to deliver fast XR experiences. Our team works on innovative proof of concepts and works hard to make them a real product.

We are looking for an experienced senior Software Engineer and Database Administrator to help build and maintain new service offerings for Verizon.
  • Determine database solutions and technology to use for various microservices in our AR/VR platforms.
  • Design, document, and implement the APIs to communicate between microservices deployed on AWS infrastructure.
  • Gather requirements and formulate technical designs to meet business needs while weighing and explaining the pros and cons of different paths.
  • Leverage knowledge of the SDLC and Agile methodologies to ensure timely delivery.
  • Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role.
  • Use high-speed transaction and optimization techniques.
  • Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses.
  • Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
  • Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
You’ll Need To Have

What we’re looking for...
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Eight or more years of experience in all layers of software development.
  • Eight or more years of experience in object-oriented server-side development using Java or C#.
  • Five or more years of experience in Graph DBs (Neo4j, OrientDB, AWS Neptune).
  • Expertise with the tinkerpop gremlin graph query and manipulation language.
  • Five or more years of experience in NoSQL DBs (Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
  • Experience with AWS lambda development and deployment using API gateway.
  • Experience with database design, documentation, and implementation.
  • Experience with database installing, clustering and architecting in AWS cloud.
  • Experience of distributed compute (HPC or similar distributed architecture).
  • Experience of OpenCL and/or CUDA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly explain the trade-offs between possible data management solutions.
  • Experience with high volume logging and log analysis using Kafka, ELK stack and/or Splunk.
  • Experience of advanced ETL tools such as Informatica.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
  • Team and technical lead experience.
  • Experience of Kubernetes, Docker and virtualization.
