We’re looking for an Optical Test Engineer to join the Snap Lab team!
What You’ll Do
- Define optical tests based on product requirements document
- Develop, document and implement verification and factory testing hardware and software for our product’s optical subsystems including displays, cameras, LEDs, ALSs and any component emitting or detecting light.
- Develop and test image quality analysis algorithms using a combination of commercial software and custom code for contrast, blemish, distortion, sharpness, uniformity, etc. Algorithms should be designed to work on captured images from product cameras, as well as on images from AR displays captured with industrial/scientific cameras.
- Develop test flow, test fixture concepts, and test station configuration for robust and efficient operation in both our engineering labs and in a factory setting.
- Monitor optical test data from prototype builds through mass production to develop acceptable limits, root cause failing units, and identify process upsets that impact yield of the product line.
- Configure commercial software (e.g Imatest) for common tests including, SFR/MTF, dynamic range, PRNU, dark noise, contrast, x,y center, checkerboard detection. Validate tests on standard devices and correlate results with factory based test instrumentation.
- Define and select commercial off the shelf optical components and instrumentation that are required for test implementation, develop requirements for custom optical components as needed.
- Calibrate commercial off the shelf machine vision cameras for radiometric/photometric response, relative illumination, distortion, focal length.
