Magic Leap, Inc. is seeking a Prototype Engineer to help create next-generation Augmented Reality experiences. You’ll have the chance to explore novel user experiences on the frontier of human-computer interaction.

Responsibilities
  • Rapidly translate design concepts into interactive Unity experience prototypes
  • Facilitate the design process by making, testing and iterating
  • Architect efficient and reusable augmented reality prototype systems
  • Collaborate with UX and visual designers, 3D artists, engineers, and project managers
  • Build bridges between the engineering and design teams
  • Drive implementation for proposed AR experiences
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience
  • A strong portfolio of relevant prototyping work
  • Expertise in Unity 3D
  • Excellent software engineering and problem-solving skills
  • Intuition for impact/effort tradeoff for quick prototyping
  • Passion for developing both low and high fidelity user experience prototypes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of development environments
  • Ability to interface with engineers on behalf of the design team (and visa-versa)
  • Familiarity with Git, Perforce, any other source control systems
Not Essential But Considered a Plus
  • Experience with Unreal Engine
  • Experience with augmented or virtual reality (Hololens, Rift, VIVE, Gear VR, etc.)
  • Experience in multiplayer or networked apps or games a plus
Education
  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
