The Senior Manager, WW Professional Education, Robotics - Learning Technologies is responsible for the leading the execution and launch of key learning technology projects (ex. VR/AR, Simulation, Telementoring, etc) for Robotics and Digital Surgery. This is a critical role on the team, responsible for designing, developing, and delivering an excellent learning experience for clinical users of our platforms. The Senior Manager will partner closely with R&D, Marketing, Professional Education, Commercial Leaders, and External Partners to ensure the learning technologies deliver on key customer requirements and enhance the customer learning experience.

Initially, your core responsibilities will be focused on implementing virtual reality (VR) training solutions for J&J’s current and future robotic surgery platforms. You will be required to work with others to scope out requirements, then oversee and continuously optimize the process of development and implementation. You’ll work with the Technology & Innovation Team to develop a scalable framework for content development and implement it within your projects. You will function as the project lead to define the scope of work and you will work with both internal and external partners to deliver on time and within budget. You’ll identify obstacles and bottlenecks, step in to troubleshoot whenever necessary, track and monitor project output in real time, and share progress updates with senior leadership. You’ll manage and maintain project information, including project milestones, risks, and dependencies while aligning with internal resources such as budget. Once complete, you will oversee the rollout of the VR training solution and track its results in several use-cases.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

POLICIES: Know and follow policies and procedures related to work activities performed in area of responsibility

TRAINING: Complete training in area of responsibility within allowed time-period. Training is required for changes in existing policies and procedures, for new assignments and for implementation of new policies and procedures. Complete required periodic re-training in areas such as safety and environmental compliance.

SAFETY: Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within work area. Promote safety to all associates that enter work area. Follow Health Care Compliance guidelines as well as follow operating room training and safety standards (Bloodborne pathogens training, etc).

FUNCTIONAL:
  • Capture customer insights to define requirements for learning technologies to ensure successful launch and integration into customer learning experiences
  • Identify new learning technologies, assess fit with robotic/specialty learning objectives, and build business case to secure funding and project charter
  • Lead VoC and customer (clinical and non-clinical stakeholders) validation efforts to ensure learning technology features and functionality meet and/or exceed customer expectations
  • Guide development efforts with internal and external partners to ensure product requirements are met
  • Serve as launch leader for the roll out of specific learning technology products
  • Develop global faculty and lead curriculum development working groups
  • Enable strong collaboration with multiple internal and external partners
Qualifications

Required

:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Minimum of 8 years in progressive Healthcare Commercial roles (e.g., Professional Education and/or Sales Training) or other applicable experience
  • Project management experience
  • High technological and business aptitude
  • Strong influence management and communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage internal and external networks
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project from initial design and development through launch
Preferred:
  • Previous experience applying technology (ex. simulation, VR/AR, etc.) to strategic learning pathways
  • Previous experience working in Professional Education, Sales, Global and/or Strategic Marketing
  • Previous experience working in R&D or working with R&D in a product development environment
  • Previous experience in Medical Device Professional Education
  • MBA or other Post-Graduate Degree
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proven ability to understand business strategy; translate it into GES solutions (Professional, Commercial and Marketing Education) that support the company’s business goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; skilled at delivering presentations to senior leaders

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office, laboratory and surgical facilities

LOCATION: J&J Medical Device Home Office (Santa Clara, Redwood City, or Irvine, CA, Cincinnati, OH, Raritan, NJ) or can be field based.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Domestic and global overnight travel may be required up to 50%
