The Devices & Technology team within Mixed Reality is responsible for every physical device that Mixed Reality ships - from firmware to final hardware. .

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven electrical engineer with strong EE fundamentals and proven track record leading system integration of original or joint designed electronics from prototype through high volume mass production. A successful candidate will be a technical leader, effective communicator, creative, willing learner, and able to analyze and drive complex, cross-functional issues to resolution.

Responsibilities
  • An onboard hire will work alongside hardware, software, and program management peers to deliver a best-in-class MR product including the following tasks -
  • Own motherboard and interconnect design quality with a JDM partner.
  • Interact with subsystem technical leads to execute system integration of MR hardware.
  • Lead as a technical mentor to junior EE team members; delegating design, test, & debug activities as needed.
  • Run Spice simulations and perform breadboard/quick turn prototyping to validate circuits in HW.
  • Work closely with the HoloLens SW team to plan and execute a HW, FW, and SW bring-up.
  • Design or redline schematics and board layouts.
  • Support debug & failure analysis at PCBA and form factor builds, possibly on location with a CM.
  • Provide input to a hardware validation plan with JDM partner, and review test execution results.

Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar field. MS preferred.
  • 5 years of experience with design and system integration of consumer electronics hardware. 8+ years preferred.
  • Hands on experience with design, test, and ship of HDI PCB, FPC, and RFPC.
  • Experience with schematic entry and PCB design software. Cadence Concept HDL & Allegro preferred.
  • Experience analyzing & critiquing JDM design through the end-to-end product design cycle.
  • Strategic debug of prototype and production electronics in build and development environments.
  • Ability to organize, analyze, summarize and present large sets of test result data.
  • The position requires international travel to support manufacturing builds, 20% travel required.
