The Innovation Strategist is key to the success of Bridgestone and core to the North Star of reaching Industry 4.0. This role will drives our Innovation Projects such as Project M(A)RTI (Mixed [Augmented] Reality Technology Innovation), SharePoint integrations, Factory Design Software integrations, IOT, Cloud Processing of Scan Data, and Hardware optimization for CAD, BIM and Mixed Reality Deployments.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead R&D of new Extended Realities (XR) technologies and software, oversee software developers working on applications for XR, work with Hardware providers to test and select which Hardware we will deploy globally.
  • Manages the rollout of technology to multiple plants and offices/divisions.
  • Lead the global vision for XR Development in support of Industry 4.0, Factory of the Future, using XR as a part of Digital Manufacturing to build it digitally first to reduce the cost and time it takes to build machines.
  • Present technologies to various groups; up to and including the C-suite, trade groups, the media, and Bridgestone investors.
  • Coordinate with plant engineers, corporate engineers, and external vendors to create cost saving opportunities in conceptualization and design review scenarios.
  • Advise in 3D printing (including design) efforts for multiple engineers.
  • Collaborate with various disciplines across the company such as; Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Construction and Manufacturing teams.
  • Using Digital Manufacturing technology for Product Design and/or BIM Design.
Qualifications
  • 4 Year degree in Engineering, Mechatronics or Equivalent
  • Experience with Software and Hardware Programming
  • Passion to discover and research cutting edge tech and apply it in the Rubber processing world
  • Organized and Self-motivated
  • Proficient with public speaking, presentations and training
  • Experience with 3D CAD design software
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years engineering or design experience
  • Experience with 3D printing technology
  • Java, C++, C#, Python or other programing languages a plus
  • Ability to connect the hardware with the software
  • Experience with Extended Reality technology
  • Experience with any of the following Autodesk software’s a plus: AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, 3DS Max, Navisworks, HSM, Nastran, or Vault
  • Experience with any of the following software’s a plus: Polyworks, Geomagic, Unity, Vizzard, Unreal or Windows Mixed Reality.
Qualifications

Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or equivalent work experience
