At Facebook Reality Labs Research, software development provides the platform for our scientific explorations and generates viable paths to the consumer products people will use for decades to come. Responsibilities
  • Work with local and remote cross-functional teams to lead the integration of research in machine learning and AI modeling, novel input and output hardware, and novel interaction paradigms to ensure unified user, developer, and data scientist experiences
  • Provide technical leadership: operating as a technical product owner and architect of a next generation user interaction / machine learning software platform for AR/VR
  • Apply HCI research on novel interaction platforms to define a set of tools that enable development of 3rd party software for platform integration
  • Collaborate in a team environment across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, to integrate results into platforms and experiences
  • Prioritize and get things done with a high level of efficiency
Minimum Qualification
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics or related field
  • 2+ years experience in leading and coordinating teams of developers in large-scale software projects which have shipped
  • 10+ years experience in software development across all levels of the stack
  • 5+ years experience leading design and delivery of software APIs and frameworks/platforms for novel interaction paradigms
  • Experience with a variety of desktop and web/mobile application frameworks (e.g. Android, iOS, React, Qt)

Preferred Qualification
  • MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics or related field
  • Experience in HCI research
  • Experience in tech transfer
  • Experience in 3D Graphics: e.g. Game engines such as Unreal or Unity, Low-level graphics frameworks such as Vulkan, DirectX or OpenGL, 3D mathematics, applied linear algebra
  • Familiarity with machine learning or deep learning
