As an AR/VR Designer at Facebook Reality Labs, you will explore, prototype, and build experiences that define the future of how people interact in AR. You love solving novel problems from first principles. Join a world-class team experimenting with bold ideas in areas including optics, haptics, tracking, displays, computer vision, user experience, audio, and perceptual psychology. Work alongside expert Interaction Designers, Scientists, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers and Software Engineers to create the technology that makes AR pervasive and universal. Your work will be used in user research studies, technology demos, and proof of concept prototypes. The ideal candidate is a highly creative individual who has expertise in 3D interactive experiences and proficiency in Unity. Responsibilities
- Design compelling interactions and experiences for AR/VR driven by user scenarios and use cases
- Synthesize broad and ambiguous business requirements and accomplish them through design
- Help establish preliminary processes to align cross-functional teams
- Contribute to strategic decisions, working with the Design, Research Science, and Executive teams
- Design end-to-end flows and visuals, and individually contribute to the product and feature set
- Give and solicit feedback from others to raise the quality and craftsmanship of the design work
- Clearly articulate design decisions to a vast set of internal stakeholders
Minimum Qualification
- 5+ years of interaction design experience in designing high quality user interfaces
- A portfolio featuring examples of interaction, 3D, motion, visual, and prototyping work
- Experience with AR and VR
- Communication and presentation experience
- Experience designing and leading in cross-functional environments
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods for user research
- Experience with Unity and Adobe Creative Suite
Preferred Qualification
- Experience with 3D software (C4D, Houdini, Maya, 3ds Max, Blender)
- Experience defining product strategy and vision
- Experience prototyping emerging technologies with physical computing, haptics, wearables, or machine learning techniques
