At Facebook Reality Labs (FRL), our goal is to design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We are looking for a skilled and motivated design technologist to join our team, whose mission is to unleash human potential by erasing the bottlenecks between user intent and action. We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience in interactive prototyping to work with a team of researchers to explore the potential of neural interfaces, which has grown out of the acquisition of CTRL-labs. The chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Create prototypes which explore neuromotor interactions in a variety of environments and situations
  • Collaborate with neuroscientists and machine learning experts to develop and demonstrate new neuromotor control capabilities
  • Collaborate with user researchers to iterate on prototypes and evaluate the performance of promising interactions
Minimum Qualification
  • 5+ years of C#, JavaScript or C++ experience on prototyping, game development, or equivalent real-time interactive development
  • 3+ years experience with Unity, Unreal, JavaScript/3JS/WebGL or equivalent
  • Portfolio featuring examples of interactive prototype work

Preferred Qualification
  • One or more of the following:
  • Experience building prototypes for VR and AR devices
  • Experience with gestural or wearable computing interfaces
  • Experience prototyping with novel hardware, sensors, or devices
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods for user research
  • Familiarity with real-time signal processing (filtering, debouncing, etc.) and machine learning techniques
