From mixed reality and human interaction to natural inputs and beyond, XR Tech is focused on taking new technologies from early concept to the product level while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences they open up.As the Machine Perception Systems and Calibration Technical Program Manager, you will work to ensure outstanding calibration capabilities and system validation for all phases of engineering and productization of AR/VR hardware. You will work closely with multiple teams to gather a deep understanding of the machine perception systems design and calibration challenges of the different technologies, and help drive the development of calibration algorithms, SW pipelines, HW fixtures, and product design. You will also work closely with a system architect to review overall system design for sensor integration, to define KPI targets, and to evaluate machine perception compute. You will play a key role in defining highly complex, cross-functional features, planning requirements, driving alignment between multiple teams, managing schedules, identifying and tracking risks, and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders.The right candidate thrives in a cross-functional environment as the team works closely collaborating with Research, Hardware, Software, and Ops teams in multiple geographic locations.
Responsibilities
- Planning scope of complex cross-functional programs.
- Work with teams to set milestones, create integration plans, and identify/address potential setbacks.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment across product, hardware, software, and computer vision teams.
- Communicate program status, risks, and mitigation plans to executives.
- Ensure project documents are complete, and available for staff and leadership review.
- Identify resources needed and work closely with the team leads to maintain full visibility of multiple projects, ensuring resource gaps are addressed efficiently.
- Up to 20% travel.
Minimum Qualification
- 7+ years experience as a program manager.
- Experience in driving multi-disciplined (hardware and software) organizations.
- Experience in managing cross-team and cross-geography programs, and experience leading through influence.
- Domain knowledge in calibration/sensors/algorithms/system.
- Experience shipping technology and managing product development programs.
- Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams.
