The Authentic Presence team within Facebook Reality Labs develops machine perception technologies for human understanding that power product experiences through world-class Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality hardware and software, and across the Facebook family of apps. We work full-stack across applied research and development of algorithms, performance optimizations for target hardware, and production deployments into target devices and apps. We build on the state-of-the-art methods in computer vision and machine learning including (semi-)supervised deep learning, generative adversarial learning, active learning, depth sensing, 3D reconstruction, and rendering. We are responsible for building the next generation experiences for Facebook’s AR glasses that will fundamentally change the way we interact with and experience the world.
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and strategy for team of 10 engineers
- Drive integration and optimization of realtime CV/ML/Graphics algorithms into embedded systems
- Define and drive infrastructure and testing needs
- Build reusable code deliverable to a wide range of mobile hardware and OS
Minimum Qualification
- BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience designing and developing production quality in one or more embedded or mobile OS
- Proficiency in C++
- Demonstrated background in integrating multiple complex CV/ML/Graphics modules onto mobile or embedded OS
- On-device optimization and benchmarking experience
Preferred Qualification
- Keen knowledge for driving quality via extensive testing, and the building of full coverage test frameworks
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams on a large multi-component system software code base
