Our Exciting Opportunity

Ericsson One, an internal venture studio that brings ground-breaking ideas and new products to market is now looking for an 3D Artist to help build the 3D future of human connection. Our team is built to innovate, adapt quickly, and craft the future for Ericsson. In other words, we have the best of both worlds: the energy of a startup and the impact of a global leader. Project Spectre has recently been awarded Ericsson’s 2020 Top Performance Award for Innovation and is now coming out of stealth. Spectre plans to use Ericsson’s worldwide scale to launch a ground-breaking product that sits at the intersection of deep learning, computer vision, computer graphics and XR (VR/AR). We are looking for people who have a start-up mentality; people who are creative, hardworking, inventive, and capable of helping us launch this innovative business globally. Our vision is to enable a new generation of genuine, connected experiences through the democratization of digital humans. Join us for the adventure of a lifetime!

You will
  • Create 3D characters, clothes, accessories, and props at multiple levels of detail (LOD), to specific technical and aesthetic guidelines (and contribution to the establishment of these guidelines!)
  • Help maintain a high level of perceived fidelity across multiple platforms, with your bag of practical tricks and deep insights across the 3D asset pipeline
  • Share your experience and knowledge with researchers and engineers across disciplines to advance AR/VR research, prototypes, and groundbreaking user experiences
  • Bonus points if you can comfortably contribute to facial digitization, tracking, rigging and animation pipelines, via tools like Reality Capture and R3DS Wrap/Track
To be successful in the role you must have
  • Proven industry experience with modeling and texturing, especially in the context of realistic 3D characters
  • 2+ years of experience with tools such as Zbrush, Maya, Photoshop, and Substance Painter
Separate yourself from the rest if you also have
  • Proficiency in Unity, Unreal, or other major game engines
  • Experience with face digitization, rigging, animation and tracking pipelines
  • Shipped AAA games or VFX
  • AR/VR experience
  • Basic scripting or programming experience, so you can automate the boring stuff
  • Shader programming experience, so you can achieve a certain look down to the finer details
