Backend Engineer

Krikey, an AR gaming app, is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our growing team! Key responsibilities include: building software delivery pipelines and building operational routines to monitor, detect and address API security. This is not a data analyst, BI analyst, or data scientist role.

Role:

• Design, architect, code, and implement services/components (Node.js, Restify, Sequelize, Finale)

• Data modeling and architecture (PostgreSQL)

• Build software delivery pipelines, deploy and monitor services, and manage and learn from incidents (Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Terraform)

• Create and improve automated, highly reliable data pipelines and migrations (Mixpanel, Looker, SQL, BigQuery)

• Monitor cost and performance of Github Enterprise appliance

• Continuous Integration (CircleCI/Jenkins)

• Write automation scripts on an ad-hoc basis

• Manage Firebase console (Messaging, Dynamic Links)

• Work to build operational routines to monitor, detect and address the API’s security

• Review code with focus on API security

Skills:

• Deep understanding of software delivery pipelines and API security.

• Advanced knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes and Terraform.

• Personable and excited about cross-functional collaborations.

• Excited to work in a challenging and always changing environment.

About Krikey:

Krikey is an Augmented Reality gaming app that is live on iOS and Android. Krikey just closed their Series A round, led by India’s largest telecom operator, Reliance Jio. Krikey has partnered with Google Maps, The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Foundation, Sony Pictures Entertainment and the National Audubon Society, building custom AR games for each brand partner. In 2020, Krikey launched their first action-adventure game, Yaatra.  

Krikey was founded by sisters (Jhanvi and Ketaki) in 2017. They have previously worked at YouTube, Facebook's Oculus and Google X. Jhanvi holds a BA, MBA from Stanford and an MFA from USC, and Ketaki holds a BA, MA, and PhD from Stanford (in virtual reality and game development). Ketaki was named to the Forbes 30 under 30 list for gaming in 2020. Krikey was named to the Fast Company list of Best Apps and Games of 2020.
