We seek a Senior Director of Retail Strategy Innovation to directly support the SVP Retail Operations as a leader of key, strategic project initiatives. 


Are you known for your project/program management expertise? Have you be recognized for your communication initiatives, writing to audiences as appropriate. Do you have the navigational skills to navigate large matrixed organizations with a solid track record of getting things done? 


In this role you will lead the team driving Retail Strategy and ensure the Samsung brand is positioned to win in all retail environments. Own a wide range of duties in support of the health of the entire organization including, but not limited to, key business processes, staffing and people management, business operations, project management, information technology and development.


Areas of Accountability:

Retail Strategy

  • Drive development of short and long-term strategies, driving annual strategic planning and monitoring success against strategies
  • Ensuring Retail Ops projects and initiatives are aligned with strategy
  • Develop growth and innovative plans for SEA’s fast-growing DTC business
  • Build cross functional partnerships with 3rd party vendors, marketing, digital creation, channel, product teams, and retail sales to optimize customer experience
  • Support the resolution of complex operational and organizational problems
  • Drive headcount planning and organizational optimization
  • Create and provide input on SEA's corporate growth strategy
  • Drive customer loyalty in supporting the retail initiatives and strategies
  • Help create and drive retail engagement programs

Retail Insights

  • Discover and develop supporting insights to drive results for the Samsung brand in retail
  • Partner with insights and analytics teams to deliver actionable strategic programs
  • Leverage data and analytics to make informed insights based decisions
  • Responsible for research and analytics related to the customer experience
  • Use data to present recommendation and opportunities based on trending data
  • Develop hypothesis and discover/develop supporting insights to drive results for the Samsung brand in retail

Data Analytics

  • A Retail thought leader with the ability to think of innovative problem solving approaches supported by data and insights
  • Lead a team of trusted Retail content partners for SEA Retail and internal partners
  • Blend data analytics with strategy skills to develop solutions that have a measurable impact on SEA Mobile business

Long-Term Retail GTM Planning

  • Lead the team that creates Retail specific go-to-market plans for specific devices, categories, regions and channels
  • Collaborate closely with account teams and Retail leaders to incorporate Samsung Mobile devices and services into Retail framework and value proposition
  • Influence Samsung Mobile roadmap with Retail priorities and requirements by leading the team that performs detailed strategic analysis and gather retail specific requirements from channels at a region and vertical level
  • Work with leaders from Retail Operations and Field Sales to support the development of the Retail GTM plan for all devices and service launches

Communications

  • Drive Retail Ops Rhythm of Business and associated activities
  • Lead communication for all C-Suite, HQ, and customer audiences
  • Support internal communications within Strategy and Innovation
  • Develop both internal and external selling documents for key initiatives and retail strategies

Skills and Qualifications

Background/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree with +15 years of directly related experience is required ; advanced degree highly preferred
  • Prior experience leading high performance teams is required
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Prior telecommunication, retail, or CPG experience strongly preferred
  • Strong project management, analytical and interpersonal skills required

This position requires a high level of sophistication in communications, interpersonal relations and diplomacy. It requires the incumbent to possess a keen mind and a multi-focal intelligence to quickly grasp salient issues and details and proper evaluations and recommendations.

This position requires the ability to communicate in writing and verbally with great precision and diplomacy up, laterally and down the organizational structure and with Headquarters as needed.The position requires unimpeachable integrity and must be viewed by C-level executives as utterly trustworthy. Key stakeholders must be confident that the incumbent is emotionally stable and resilient and possess a solid ethical foundation of personal values that are 100% transparent, 100% of the time.The incumbent must have/demonstrated:

  • Ability to negotiate on behalf of functional area to come to agreement on all organizational strategies, goals, and objectives.
