SUMMARY:
Xiaomi’s Technology Planning & Partnerships team is responsible for discovering key strategic technology
opportunities for Xiaomi's Smartphone department. More specifically, the team is focused on researching &
identifying new camera and computer vision (CV) technologies in order to both differentiate Xiaomi's camera
system and to strengthen Xiaomi's brand as a camera innovator. As a key contributor, you will provide expert
insight based on your skills and background in 3D/AR/CV technology and produce key technical materials
(roadmaps, analysis, prototypes, demos) to support your opinions and direction. In your new role you will be
responsible for evaluating and benchmarking new technologies as well as ensuring the final camera feature meets
the requirements of a world-class product. Your contributions will be realized through your cooperation with thirdparty
vendors, startups, and researchers and will be highly visible within the company. If you're successful, the
results of your cooperation will be launched on Xiaomi's flagship smartphones and experienced by Xiaomi's users
at a global scale.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 5+ years of relevant mobile computer vision algorithm experience in R&D or Product teams
2. Strong understanding of mobile camera technology including depth sensors
3. Strong understanding of state-of-the-art 3D/AR technology
4. Awareness of global AR/3D/CV ecosystem including suppliers, startups, and conferences
5. Proficiency with relevant software tools and libraries:
a. ARCore, ARKit, OpenCV, Open3D, Matlab, Unity, Python, Android, etc
6. Experience working cross-functionally and building consensus with key stakeholders
7. Strong ability to handle ambiguity and changing requirements
JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Research and identify state-of-the-art 3D/AR/CV algorithms and suppliers
2. Build and maintain relationships with incubators, start-ups and vendors
3. Perform technical evaluations on new algorithms and camera technologies
4. Build a technology roadmap based on expert analysis and present to leaders and executives
5. Define technical specifications, milestones, requirements, key metrics, and create convincing prototypes
and concepts
6. Rapidly iterate on design ideas to define short-term and long-term opportunities

RELEVANT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. SLAM, 3D reconstruction, depthmap processing, RGBD data processing, semantic segmentation, spatial
computing, motion capture, real-time image processing, object recognition, object classification, object
tracking, camera calibration, AR, VR, MR, XR
EDUCATION:
BS/MS/PhD in computer science, electrical engineering or similar discipline.
