Verizon Media Studios Design:. Art Director XR

The XR Art Director position at Verizon Media Studios works efficiently in a fast-paced environment where creativity drives a demanding workflow. Able to work across Verizon Media and Yahoo editorial brands in a variety of show formats ranging from traditional broadcast to Virtual Reality and XR productions.

Job Description

• Work closely with the Creative Director in all aspects of development to create successful design strategies for the VMS brands and Verizon corporate XR initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to: content for pilots, series, tent poles, seminars, web and social content
• Help oversee and direct a team of animators, illustrators, designers
• Present concepts to CD before starting work. Evolve creative for long-term projects along with CD
• Work closely with the Graphics Manager to maintain graphic schedules, freelance booking/holding, graphic budget, graphic request and project deliverables
• Guide designers through every step of production while collaborating with Graphics Manager to go over production calendar and project budget for graphics during kick-off meetings
• Take responsibility to ensure on-time delivery of the highest quality product
• Art Direct all XR content, interscrollers, Broadcast AR packages and more
• Help maintain and manage an efficient work flow among the team
• Support, motivate and inspire the designers with encouragement and constructive feedback
• Stay current by proactively seeking out relevant seminars, workshops, conferences
• Work with Graphics Manager in ongoing recruitment to keep talent pool fresh
  
  

Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience
• 8+ years of art direction / project lead / team management experience
• Bachelors in Graphic Design, motion graphics, communication design or related field or equivalent experience
• Experience designing and directing production of branded materials and custom pieces
• Experience in workflow and 2D/3D animation, design and production optimization for Interscrolllers/scrollytelling
• Experience in 3D model production for mobile experiences (our internal tool is VMI composer)
• On set design experience
• Successful experience in managing a graphic design team as well as mentoring junior staff
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• 3D design experience in C4D and Unreal Engine
• Basic knowledge of Brainstorm Infinity set and Aston Graphics

• Interest and general knowledge in the series content
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to make strong presentations and sell through ideas internally and externally
