Facebook Reality Labs is a world leader in the design of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) systems. The Cameras & Sensors (C&S) team gathers world class expertise and talent in photographic and machine vision cameras, imaging sensors, and depth, inertial, and bio sensing systems, and owns the development and validation for all these sensing systems across the whole AR, VR & Portal product portfolios.We are looking for an Image Sensor Validation Lead that will partner with a team of professionals covering the complete CMOS image sensor lifecycle in human perception and machine perception imaging. This individual will lead the validation requirements definition, and validate leading edge image sensors into our camera modules. Their work scope will span OTS image sensors, semi-custom sensors, fully custom sensors, and advanced sensor technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical efforts to validate the OTS and innovative image sensors
  • Drive and develop methodologies for internally and externally validating systems, including hardware simulations (FPGA, emulation) and sensor evaluation hardware
  • Interact with sensor vendors to understand how they are meeting requirements, and validate their implementations
  • Prototyping innovative concept to define the sensor new features
  • Collaborate with image sensor design teams, computer vision scientists, module/optical experts and system architects to develop next generation sensor technologies
Minimum Qualification
  • BS in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in image sensor validation, review and author formal validation plan and report
  • Proficiency with data collection and analysis tools, including C/C++, Python, MATLAB, and other scripting languages
  • Experience with sensor electrical and functional validation tools, including interface (I2C/I3C/C-PHY/D-PHY MIPI interfaces) and power supply
  • Experience on FPGA integration and bring up

Preferred Qualification
  • Familiar with digital image processing, image quality analysis, imaging algorithms
  • In-depth experience with FPGA platforms: Xilinx FPGA boards, debug, performance and throughput tuning
  • Understanding of Machine learning models and FPGA implementation of the models for different tracking applications
  • Experience in silicon design (Verilog, firmware)
