We are looking for an enthusiastic Human Resources Generalist who will provide a range of key HR services in our Franklin, Massachusetts site.  In this role you will have the opportunity to focus on delivering exceptional customer service and quality work.  We think you will be excited to work as a team player who collaborates with management, fellow HR team members, employees and corporate HR on various initiatives.  In this role you will:

  • Partner with HR management to advise, counsel, and provide feedback to managers and employees on performance management and employee relations issues to constructively resolve problems.  Annually, participate in performance management and compensation planning according to corporate guidelines and pre-established budgets, providing consultation as needed.
  • Ensure that company policies and practices follow federal, state and local employment laws and procedures, including record keeping, policy statements, non-discriminatory practices, regulation compliance, affirmative action, etc.  In addition, you will ensure that legal postings are current including wage-and-hour, EEO, OSHA, and other internal MKS postings.
  • Support talent acquisition initiatives including sourcing, arranging interviews, background checks, etc. and assist with new employee onboarding activities.  This may include new hire orientation and supporting immigration cases/visas (legal permanent resident, H-1B and TN).  When necessary, conduct and document exit interviews with terminating employees to understand turnover trends.
  • Assist with benefit questions/issues and partner with Benefits Administrator on health care, workers’ compensation and various other leaves of absence to ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with applicable regulations. 
  • Assist with development, implementation and administration of corporate-wide programs such as Reward & Recognition, Tuition Reimbursement, company celebrations, scholarships, charity work, and others
  • Participate in Quality initiatives (Management Review Meetings), ISO and customer audits and work closely with Corporate Environmental Health & Safety to implement, and/or administer formal safety and health policies, programs, and procedures

  • 1-2 years of experience as an HR Generalist that supported employee relations, corrective action, talent acquisition, performance appraisal/evaluation, compensation and employee records keeping.  Experience working in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws impacting employment and ability to interpret and apply applicable laws and regulations.
  • Efficient and effective communication with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy. 
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday a plus)
