The Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) team is developing future products in augmented reality and virtual reality that will enable groundbreaking experiences for consumers and businesses. We are hiring for an experienced Technical Program Manager to drive programs on the VR Developer software team.The VR Developer team is responsible for delivering intuitive and powerful developer-facing experiences with SDKs, industry leading engine integrations, tooling and content, as well as our browser experiences. The TPM role is key to driving feature quality and execution from concept to release by driving impact across various functions and stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, Design, QA, and more.You’ll have a pivotal role defining how developers interact with VR systems both now and well into the future, and be part of a well-supported team that values career development and personal growth.The right candidate will possess a strong technical program management background and will have demonstrated experience leading large projects across multiple software teams. You will have a well-rounded technical background, with experience iterating with a multi-disciplinary team on the design of developer interactions. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of software features for our VR developer platform.
  • Understand product requirements, technical challenges, business needs, and develop a plan for delivering features that meet the requirements.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to identify risks/issues, constraints, dependencies, and to deliver software features.
  • Manage communication with engineering, product, and marketing teams. Work with teams to set milestones, communicate project status, and identify/address potential setbacks.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and product development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment.
  • Hold teams accountable for quality and timelines of software deliverables.
Minimum Qualification
  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience as a Technical Program Manager or Product Manager working in a cross-functional software development environment, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of software development processes and best practice
  • Experience managing launch or commercialization of one or more software or consumer products
  • Experience managing and overseeing multiple on-going initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience operating autonomously and driving and setting goals for multiple teams
  • Cross-functional communication and collaboration experience
  • Knowledge with project and issue tracking systems

Preferred Qualification
  • Experience with developer platforms and tools, API and SDK design.
