The position of PR Manager is an opportunity to work with a Global Communications and Social Media team to tell the incredible story of how HTC Vive is making the impossible, possible. The person in this role will support the entire PR team and will take ownership of a variety of tactical projects necessary to the success of the team.  

  

This role will be responsible for

  • Developing and executing comprehensive PR and storytelling strategies for various Vive business units while working closely with the PR team to ensure alignment 
  • Creating, coordinating and driving PR and storytelling efforts for the various verticals where VR is making a daily impact. 
  • Coordinate and execute storytelling opportunities for Vive’s enterprise partners across the globe.  
  • Developing PR schedules, creating content, collaborating with numerous partners across the globe to ensure seamless execution. 
  • Developing schedules and managing executive visibility opportunities and award submissions 
  • Overall event support, as needed.  
  • Drive the VR industry forward with compelling storytelling, thought leadership and teamwork.  
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to evangelize the brand and secure positive and consistent media coverage. 
  • Develop and execute against ideas to drive awareness and demand for the brand. 
  • Elevate the company’s profile by developing a bench of spokespeople, managing media relationships, and acting as a spokesperson when appropriate. 
  • Identify events and speaking opportunities to showcase HTC’s brand and thought leaders. 
  • Work across different time zones and enthusiastically collaborate with colleagues globally.  

  

What you bring to the role: 

Experience must include relevant category experience, a demonstrable track record at strategic communications, strong media relationships with top-tier outlets/reporters, and the ability to forge new and lasting media relationships. 

  

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, independently motivated, proactive, have strong storytelling skills, possess excellent writing skills, have consistent follow-through, have a strong desire and ability to integrate and operate within a growing team environment, encouraging other team members to do the same and pitching in when- and where- ever needed.  

  

The position provides the opportunity to interact with a wide array of people within the company and will require a “start-up” mentality to be successful. 

  

Other qualifications include: 

  • BA/BS degree in journalism, public relations, English, or related discipline required 
  • Minimum 5 years of corporate communications and storytelling experience in an international organization, preferably high tech. Startup experience is a plus. 
  • Ability to write, edit, and disseminate press releases, media statements, and other external communications 
  • Familiarity with Virtual Reality and/or Mixed Reality and/or other relevant technologies 
  • Strong cross-team collaboration; ability to influence cross-organizationally and at the executive level 
  • A sense of urgency, unrelenting attention to detail, and a strong need for excellence 
  • Puts the customer at the center (internal & external) 
  • Strong listener and solution finder with a sense of pride to go above and beyond 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills 
  • Creative, positive, and high-energy individual with hands-on mentality and excitement for new technologies and emerging trends 
  • A proven history of building a network of media contacts 
  • Ability to build and drive strategy & execution
