PARC’s Collaborative Visual Computing Area seeks interns to develop cutting-edge computer vision algorithms for a variety of applications including augmented reality and 3D object detection and tracking. Of particular interest are techniques that incorporate semi-supervised learning and 3D data to train models to identify objects, actions, and behaviors with minimal human guidance. We are seeking interns with a strong analytical background and hands-on implementation skills, as well as a keen interest in developing and applying advanced concepts to exciting real-world problems. Interns will work under the mentorship of PARC researchers to turn novel concepts into demonstrable prototypes.

Requirements
  • Enrollment in MS/PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields, with specialization in computer vision
  • Experience or strong desire to work with 3D data (e.g., point clouds, meshing, mapping)
  • Expertise in deep learning and associated frameworks, e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet
  • Hands-on algorithm and software development in one or more of Python, C/C++, MATLAB
  • Strong communication skills

Desired Experience
  • 3D engine software such as Unity and/or Unreal Technology
  • AR toolkits such as AR-kit and/or AR-core
  • Experience with object detection/tracking, representation learning, search/retrieval
  • Publication in top tier conference or journal
