SimX is a fast-growing startup bringing virtual and augmented reality to medical simulation

training. Our product is the first comprehensive professional-grade VR medical simulation

system, and it is used by our customers to train physicians, nurses, paramedics and other

allied health professionals. Since our product has become generally available, demand has

exploded and we're in need of new team members to move our product forward.

THE JOB

SimX is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Operations to lead and

oversee our company’s operational functions. This executive-level role is critical to driving

efficiency, ensuring quality, and aligning operations with the overall business strategy. The

ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in operational leadership, financial

management, and team development, along with a commitment to continuous

improvement and innovation.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership:

● Develop and implement business strategies to enhance operational efficiency and

profitability.

● Collaborate with executive leadership to align operations with the company’s

strategic goals and objectives.


Operational Excellence:

● Oversee software production and service delivery processes to ensure quality

standards are consistently met.

● Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and

streamline workflows.


Financial Management:

● Manage the operations budget, including cost analysis and forecasting, to support

informed financial decision-making.

● Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for

operational improvement.


Team Leadership:

● Lead and motivate operations management teams to achieve excellence in

performance and service delivery.

● Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the operations

department.


Policy and Compliance:

● Establish and enforce company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with

legal regulations and internal standards.

External Relationships:

● Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and external partners

to negotiate favorable terms and ensure supply chain efficiency.


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

● Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments to ensure

operational cohesiveness and alignment.

● Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to

maintain a competitive edge.


Department Oversight:

● Oversee and provide strategic direction for key departments, including Sales

Operations, Human Resources, Engineering, Product Operations, and Customer

Support.

● Ensure these departments operate efficiently, align with organizational goals, and

deliver exceptional service and results.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

● Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related

field.

● 10+ years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior

leadership role.

● Proven expertise in developing and implementing operational strategies that drive

efficiency and profitability.

● Experience in software production or software development processes

● Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and KPI

analysis.

● Excellent leadership and team-building skills with a track record of managing

high-performing teams.

● Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with

stakeholders at all levels.

● Knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.

● Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

● Permanent residence in the United States.


This is a full-time, remote position. Candidates must live within the United States and will be

expected to be available during Pacific Time business hours. In addition, this role will also be

expected to attend major simulation conferences and/or in person closing meetings

potentially as frequently as monthly.


PREFERRED SKILLS

● Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related

field.

● Professional experience within the healthcare industry.
