You are an up and coming Software Engineer looking to join a team building the next generation of VR games. You have a passion for games and technology and a drive to work collaboratively. You’re looking to grow your engineering skills, experience, and learn as a part of a best-in-class VR studio.

Junior Gameplay Engineer - BigBox Responsibilities:

  • Create VR software within a highly dynamic and iterative team environment
  • Develop, test and maintain quality code and documentation
  • Learn new tools, technologies and approaches for development
  • Work as a team, contributing to important decisions of what we build
  • Develop prototypes and experiments, while researching and recommending possible solutions
  • Test and support the product as a game as a service
  • Collaborate with producers, artists, and engineers to implement new features, and solve creative problems

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience developing software with either on the job experience, projects outside of school, open source and personal projects
  • Familiarity with 3D game engines, ie: Unity, Unreal, etc.
  • Competent with 3D math basics
  • Understanding of the product life-cycle and live service
  • Experienced working in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
  • A customer-service mindset, helping to deliver on time as part of a focused team
  • Bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced building VR or AR apps
  • Experience building games, tools, or apps for personal use

$117,000/year to $137,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
