Job Description 

ARCS Aviation is seeking an experienced Mid to Senior Level Software Developer to assist in the development of extended reality (XR) systems. 

This position would be ideal for an innovative and team-oriented programmer who is looking to solve real-world problems and has current or past experience of XR development from initiation to completion. ARCS frequently works as a government contractor for the US Department of Defense and commercial clients conducting Research and Development to provide solutions utilizing Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). 

Education 

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Digital Media, or related field. 

Experience 

• 5-10 Years of Professional Experience 
• Hands-On XR Development: Experience leading XR projects or teams, including planning and delegating tasks. 
• Full Development Life Cycle: Hands-on experience with all phases of the development life cycle, from concept and design to coding, testing, and deployment. 
• Version Control Systems: Proficiency with tools like Git, SVN, or Mercurial.  
• Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments. 

Technical Skills 

• Proficiency in XR Platforms and Tools: Experience with Unity3D, Unreal Engine, and other relevant development environments. 
• Programming Languages: Strong skills in C#, C++, JavaScript, and other relevant languages. 
• 3D Modeling and Animation: Familiarity with 3D modeling tools, such as Blender, Maya, 3Ds Max and animation principles. 
• XR SDKs and APIs: Experience with ARKit, ARCore, Vuforia, Oculus SDK, StreamVR, and other XR SDKs and APIs. 
• UX/UI Design for XR: Understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design priciples specific to XR applications. 
• Spatial Computing and Interaction Design: Knowledge of spatial computing, gesture recognition, and interaction design. 

Soft Skills 

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly for XR-specific challenges. 
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Collaboration: Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, artists, and engineers. 
• Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to the rapidly evolving XR landscape. 

Certifications (Optional) 

• Certificate such as Unity Certified Programmer, Unreal Engine Developer, or similar.
