Primary Function
We are seeking a full time World Builder to work at our clients offices in the Bay Area. As one of the World’s leading tech companies, our client is well known for being a fast paced working environment that adopts an innovative, dynamic and social culture.
The role will involve working within the XR team; who create and distribute content via multiple methods of outreach such as live streaming, online, pre-records for pr/marketing etc. The role will be responsible for the creation, augmentation and delivery of immersive environments for use in productions and activations.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of AR, MR and VR; and how these technologies can be deployed to build narrative and execute on creative projects. Experience driving creative technical projects for their whole lifecycle is a must. Experience of Unity, Unreal, Blender, Horizon Worlds and other creation tools for XR environments is integral. Plus a technical understanding of how other elements of XR can filter into MR/AR/VR work, as well as active R&D and knowledge of the future of this space is an essential requirement of this role.
Pay Range: $120,000 - $135,000 annually
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead in the design and creation of immersive virtual environments.
- Maintain and augment immersive virtual environments for use in productions.
- Create and maintain any ancillary creative 3D elements/assets for the lifecycle of projects.
- Provide pre-production guidance and support for key stakeholders and XFN partners.
- Development and deployment of new XR/MR/AR/VR workflows.
- Creation of standalone XR content via the use of Unity/Unreal/Horizon for integration with traditional workflows.
- Own the end to end project lifecycle of multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
- R&D of new XR technologies.
- Creation of integrated XR content to be used within traditional/mobile XR projects.
- Ideation and execution of new XR workflows.
- Creation of XR elements for deployment for in headset projects.
- Development of bespoke XR content for use with experimental and experiential workflows.
- Train and educate within the company around the use of XR creative elements to heighten traditional projects.
- Creatively lead long format XR projects.
- Offer creative guidance to partners (storyboarding/scripting)
- SME in creative XR workflows.
- Develops creative approaches for partner requests.
- Provides directorial support of projects when needed.
- Communicates effectively to explain our services to technical and non-technical clients as needed.
- Helps educate and coach clients on XR capabilities across supported spaces in the region and any alternative options to support their requests.
- Attends regular meetings with cross functional teams.
- Supports the technical support lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout pre-production planning, execution and post event.
- Content assessments and management of content files for event delivery.
- Consistently delivers high quality service to our client and facilitates partners tours of the space.
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion management.
- Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

- Managing projects from end to end, creating timelines and milestones to ensure end goals are met.

- Web or Internet start-up environments and customer service experience are a plus.

Education & Experience
- Knowledge of 3D asset creation :
- Blender, Cinema 4D, Substance Painter.
- Experience in XR workflows using developmental software:
- Unity, Unreal Engine, 8th Wall.
- Knowledge of adapting and creating codebase in XR software and game engine platforms.
- Experience and knowledge in the creation of worlds in Horizon Worlds or the ability to learn the Horizon Worlds platform quickly.
- Experience enhancing and developing skill sets of wider team members.
- Optional: Knowledge of Spark AR and AR filter deployment.
- Optional: UX, UI skills for XR interactions.
- Optional: Experience creating 2D/3D animations (Adobe Products).
- 5+ years of experience in related XR production environments.
- 5+ years of experience leading creative projects in XR related environments.
