POSITION SUMMARY:


Join Colas Canada's innovation team as an Immersive Content Development Intern, where you'll be at the forefront of revolutionizing our new hire onboarding process. Using cutting-edge digital design technology, you'll help create immersive experiences that will redefine employee training within the heavy civil construction industry.


Objectives:


  1. Immersive Onboarding Experience: Develop interactive and immersive content to simulate real-world scenarios and introduce newly hired employees to our company culture and safety protocols.
  2. Enhanced Learning Environment: Utilize 360 camera and VR simulations to provide hands-on training in equipment operation, job site navigation, and emergency procedures.
  3. Continuous Improvement: AR Integration for Facilities/Construction - Incorporate AR with live IoT data for operational support.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Collaborate with the project team to understand the objectives and requirements for Immersive content development.

Design and create immersive 360 experiences using industry-standard camera, software tools and platforms.

Develop 3D models, animations, and interactive elements to enhance user engagement and learning outcomes.

Test and iterate on the content to ensure functionality, usability, and alignment with project goals.

Assist in the integration of immersive content with existing onboarding materials and platforms.




SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS


Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma/certification in interactive design, game design, graphic design, multimedia design or related.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in 360 content creation tools such as Unity, Unreal Engine, Blender, or similar.

Strong understanding of 3D modeling, animation, story telling and game development principles.

Familiarity with programming languages such as C# (for Unity) or C++ (for Unreal Engine) is an asset.

Ability to create compelling narratives and scenarios within a virtual environment.

Knowledge of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles for VR/AR applications.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and techniques as needed.

Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, immersive experiences.

Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in the field of VR/AR technology.

Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
