Overview

Seeking a candidate with extensive hands-on experience in new hardware process development, prioritizing practical expertise over mere design and CAD skills. The role entails managing all lab equipment, requiring troubleshooting and maintenance capabilities. The primary focus for this Process Engineer III is to innovate disruptive processes for AR/VR products, transforming rough concepts into functional prototypes through hands-on assembly and integration.

  • Responsibilities
  • Designing equipment, fixtures, and tools for new AR/VR optical prototypes.
  • Integrating concept prototypes using various techniques including lamination, spin coating, 3D printing, injection molding, CNC machines, and hand tools.
  • Actively participating in team discussions to foster new concepts.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of agreed applications.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement novel materials, processes, and tools for future optical systems.
  • Staying updated on market trends to drive necessary technology developments.
  • Skills
  • Proficiency in lamination, spin coating, 3D printing, hardware, processes, and materials.
  • Strong CAD experience (NX, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Autodesk) for designing original parts.
  • Experience in designing and fabricating tools and fixtures using precision milling, diamond turning, and wire EDM.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and statistics software like JMP, Minitab, or similar.
  • Knowledge of optical lens metrology and mechanical testing.
  • Experience with FMEA and tolerance analysis.
  • Education/Experience
  • Master's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, materials/polymer science, chemical engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in developing prototypes, preferably in printed electronics.
