Position/Title: Commercial Nuclear Power Plant Operations Consultant

Status: Part-Time (1099)

Job Location: Flexible (with options for remote work and necessary travel)

Start Date: Upon Contract Award

Background: Vectrona is seeking a talented Commercial Nuclear Power Plant Expert that wants to develop cutting-edge Extended Reality (XR) training programs. Your role will primarily focus on guiding XR training scenarios development. The scenarios may include some or all the following areas: nuclear power-plant design and operation, research and test reactor operations, inspection techniques, physical security, and such disciplines as welding, nondestructive testing, reactor maintenance, refueling, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • as a subject matter expert in task orders related to nuclear power plant design, operations, and safety protocols.
  • the development of immersive VR, AR, and MR training modules focused on nuclear power plant operations.
  • with XR developers to ensure technical accuracy and effectiveness of training scenarios.
  • technical reviews and updates of training content to reflect current industry standards and regulations.
  • expertise in the creation of multi-user input scenarios for immersive learning activities.

Education/Degree(minimum):

Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Qualifications

  • Reactor Operator (SRO) Certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) License - Nuclear (strongly preferred).
  • of ten (10) years’ experience in commercial electric nuclear power plant operations, with a strong preference for those who have held leadership or training roles.
  • knowledge of nuclear power plant design, safety protocols, and operational standards.
  • experience in developing or contributing to technical training programs, with XR training program development experience highly desirable.
  • to work collaboratively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills

  • technical expertise in nuclear power plant operations and safety.
  • communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-expert audiences.
  • in the use of XR technologies for educational purposes.
  • to prioritize work, and shift priorities as needed to meet aggressive deadlines
