Sinn Studio Inc. is leading the charge in VR combat games! Our debut game, Swordsman, is a physics-based combat game where you can slash your way through medieval earth to become the ultimate Swordsman. Having won multiple and been nominated for awards like Game of the Year in 2022, Best Swordfighting Game in 2020 and more. Swordsman also boasts top best seller in Quest and PSVR/2 platforms.

Sinn Studio is looking for a Marketing Director to lead initiatives and product positioning articulately through marketing strategies. The successful incumbent leans into their deep understanding of both players and the market. They ensure the brand’s campaign roadmap drives both sales and reach. Their highly detailed tactics reinforce an expertise in practices thus impacting successful execution. We are looking for someone who will enrich the studio with collaboration and a breadth of knowledge, all in a space where they can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement compelling marketing strategies and plans that align with the company’s overall objectives and growth targets
  • Monitor and evaluate marketing processes for optimization and effectiveness
  • Ensure marketing strategies are actionable
  • Help further develop the brand DNA and/or blueprints through marketing
  • Act as a point person in marketing initiatives and industry standards (such as age ratings)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing initiatives with product development and commercial objectives
  • Maintain good relationships for task ownership ad resourcing
  • Communicate status updates, project milestones and any risks to stakeholders in a recurring manner
  • Lead the development and maintain oversight of creative campaigns, content strategies, and promotional activities across various channels, including social media, events, and partnerships
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, consumer insights, and growth opportunities
  • Maintain regular practice of hypothesis and validation for tactics
  • Identify further aligned opportunities to expand the reach and impact of our products
  • Manage marketing budgets, track performance metrics, and provide bi-monthly reports
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key industry influencers, media outlets, and strategic partners
  • Manage the marketing suite of tools to ensure the department utilizes the most recent technology to optimize workflow
  • Work on proper solutions in tandem with flagging any concerns or obstacles around deliverables and deadlines
  • Lead and manage a marketing team to provide strategic direction positioning that aligns with broader studio goals
  • Ensure output and content maintain quality and uniformity through various channels
  • Coach and develop team members of the marketing team
  • Lead marketing initiatives with partner platforms for title releases and game updates
  • Maintain alignment of game product content and overall brand vision
  • Support existing products with updates as well as new product launches via multi-channel, integrated techniques
  • Other related duties as required

  • 8-10+ years of experience of marketing in the video game industry
  • 3-5+ years of management experience, directly leading teams
  • Have a hands-on approach, with a conscientious attitude
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data and insights into actionable marketing initiatives
  • Focus on value adding with the ability to defend ideas with research
  • Ability to increase both scope, quantify impact
  • Proven track record meeting/exceeding targets in product and sales marketing
  • Experience building compelling marketing initiatives from ideation to execution
  • Ability to context switch, balancing strategy and execution
  • Experience with marketing analytics tools and project management software
  • Collaborative experience working cross-functionally with different departments
  • Proven experience to creatively problem solve
  • Ability to optimize workflows and tactics for efficiency and ROI
  • Intimate knowledge of the ever-evolving gaming landscape, including competition, innovations, and trends, and their impact on the studio
  • Strong understanding of player motivations
  • Proven ability to strategically action on opportunities in the genre, industry, and medium
  • An effective communicator with a keen attention to detail
  • Experience with platform partnered initiatives
  • An understanding of paid advertising techniques
  • A deep interest and dedication to extended reality/spatial computing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative environment with the flexibility to adapt to evolving production/studio needs

Added Advantages

  • Post-secondary education in marketing or other related fields
  • An authentic understanding and passion about games / working in the industry

Additional Information

Salary Range: $110,000-120,000 CAD annually + 3 weeks vacation, sick days, employer paid benefits (except LTD), Employee Assistance Program, wellness days, birthday day off, Employee Stock Options (ESOP) coming in early 2024, and more.

As of the time of this posting, Sinn Studio lists the projected base salary range in good faith. A salary offered will be determined upon several factors such as: relevant experience, skillset, geographic location, and organizational critical needs.

Office Location: Liberty Village, Toronto

Work Structure: This is a hybrid position to work days in office (incumbents who are willing to relocate to or reside around the Greater Toronto Area) for both on-site support as well as collaborating with local team members and our founders.
