Job Description
Summary
Gym Class is the top rated game on the Meta Quest platform (58K ratings, 4.9 stars). Millions of players globally have downloaded GC to make friends, explore social worlds, and compete to become a star. Our community formed around social basketball, and is now rapidly expanding interests and gameplay - including football, baseball, and much more.
As Head of Growth, you’ll ship experiments to drive measurable downloads and reactivation. Your bread and butter is deeply understanding a consumer product and its community, uncovering high-impact growth tactics, and deploying experiments that hit outsized outcomes. This role is not about reapplying playbooks used at big companies. At Gym Class, you’ll have the support of a top-notch internal content creation and community squad (which you’ll lead), a high velocity product development team shipping features each week, an engaged player base and content creator community, and existing growth channels ready for further optimization and scale.
The company is backed by top technology and sports investors, including Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Y Combinator, National Basketball Association (NBA), the Golden State Warriors, and top player-investors like Kevin Durant, Danny Green, Zaza Pachulia, Andre Iguodala, and Lonzo Ball.
Join Gym Class if you’d like to ship and move fast, work with a top notch team and hungry community, and grow in the large and the fast-paced social gaming market.
What You'll Do
- Develop new growth channels and programs with measurable impact.
- Lead owned social channels, our content creator program, and paid marketing. Our social squad and community squad will report to you.
- Analyze product and channel data and metrics to continuously refine growth strategies, make data-driven decisions, and uncover new opportunities.
- Work with partners and platforms to support growth objectives.
What We Look For
- Experience in successfully scaling growth experiments from 0 to 1, most likely at a startup.
- You understand short-form video and have worked with organic and paid content creators. You’ve likely built your own content creator program and can speak deeply to what worked and what didn’t.
- Hypothesis-driven and quantitative approach to growth. Have built creative new channels (vs. incrementally improving existing ones), and experience diving into a community and its product to develop unique insights.
- Familiarity with the social gaming landscape and the ability to swiftly adapt to its culture and trends. Ideally familiar with sports culture.
- Deep understanding of social gaming, where players hang out, how they discover, and can speak to ways you’ve hacked this to drive user acquisition.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the capability to independently deconstruct complex issues and collaborate with community leaders to find solutions.
- Proficiency in analytics (Mixpanel), automation (Zapier), social communication (Discord), and productivity tools (Docs/Sheets).
Pay And Benefits
- Salary ranges may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
- Additional benefits for this role include: equity; and medical, dental, and vision benefits.
