StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking Full-Time, Junior, Computer Programmers to join our team at NAWCTSD in Orlando, FL. NAWCTSD is the Navy’s principal center for modeling, simulation and training systems technologies. The computer programmer will work with a team in a lab environment to develop state of the art, software driven training systems. The Full-time, Junior, Computer Programmer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Essential Job Duties:

  • Create, modify, and test the code, forms, and script that allow computer applications to run.
  • Work from specifications drawn up by software developers or other individuals.
  • May assist software developers by analyzing user needs and designing software solutions.
  • May develop and write computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information.

Experience Requirements:

  • At least two years of demonstrated experience in Unity/C# and with Unity-based augmented reality (AR) head-mounted displays (HMDs) such as HoloLens or Magic Leap. This could include academic, professional, or personal projects/experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Unity-based virtual reality (VR) HMDs, such as Oculus or Vive, is an acceptable substitute for AR experience, but AR-specific experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with other developers in collaborative efforts. This could include academic, professional, or personal projects/experience.
  • Experience working with an interdisciplinary team is preferred.
  • Experience with general programming tasks at a junior level, such as designing, implementing, and debugging software.
  • Familiarity with C++, OpenCV/computer vision, version control software (e.g., Git), artificial intelligence/machine learning preferred.
  • Completion of a Senior Design project (or equivalent) as part of coursework is preferred.
  • Knowledge of databases, and the principles of computer science, both hardware and software.
  • Basic ability with integrated development environments, editors, engines, and debuggers.
  • Ability to utilize source control repositories such GIT/CVS/SVN/TFS.
  • Ability to communicate with clarity and correct grammar and mechanics.


Education Requirements:

  • B.S. in computer engineering, computer science or related technical field with strong emphasis on software programming.


Security Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Minimum Secret clearance required OR must be eligible to apply and be granted interim DoD interim clearance prior to employment.
