Social Marketing Manager, VR Gaming
Location: 100% Onsite in NYC, Burlingame, OR Los Angeles
Pay Rates: $65/hr (W2, benefits, and more)
Our client's Reality Labs group is seeking a Social Marketing Manager to join their marcom team. They are looking for a strategic and creative individual to lead the development of a global social strategy for their online gaming brand. This person will lead the creative & strategic vision for the social team based on a passion for gaming and VR, cultural trends, a consumer-first mindset, insights around the evolving social landscape and
strong community management oversight.
This is a highly collaborative role where the successful candidate will work closely with internal and creative partners to inspire social strategies and content creation that engages and grows the online gaming community in new and interesting ways.
Social Marketing Manager Job Responsibilities:
- Be passionate and curious about the community and product to synthesize learnings into best practices to engage followers across our social channels (IG, TW, TH, Facebook Community Group, Discord).
- Be the champion of the community through ongoing social listening and insights mining to ensure our channels are capitalizing on trends/momentum, real time.
- Identify and implement social processes to drive efficiencies and best-in-class work
- Be a strategic thought partner with cross-functional teams including Integrated Marketing, Brand, Product Marketing, Comms and Creative to drive strategy, solicit input, and derive insights to strengthen ideas.
- Create platform-specific strategies and content adhering to brand guidelines
- Lead and manage agency partners and collaborate with in-house creative teams/production vendors
- Demonstrated ability to connect social effectiveness to business outcomes. Analyze and report on channel performance and bring optimization strategies to the team to improve business outcomes.
- Collaborate with paid media team to design on-platform paid social strategies and tactics
Social Marketing Manager Requirements:
- Gaming/Live Service experience
- 8+ years of experience managing owned social channels within global consumer product categories and brands
- Thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment with an agile, can-do attitude
- Experience in creating social media strategies from inception to growth that have driven brand engagement and growth
- Experience leading agency partners/in-house creative and inspiring them to make the best work for our social channels
- Proven record of creativity and innovation in social media content and strategies that have driven engagement
- Articulate in communication - experience simplifying complex things into human understanding
- Deep understanding of behavioral and technology trends in the social space
- Experience in delivering global culturally relevant, forward-thinking consumer-centric initiatives
Social Marketing Manager Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent marketing experience
- Experience in highly innovative consumer product categories and brands such as consumer tech, VR technologies, entertainment, or gaming brands.
- Experience as a content creator.
