Meta Reality Labs brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale. In particular, seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Meta’s mission of connecting the world. The Reality Labs Wireless Team is looking for research interns who have a deep understanding of wireless technology to drive the state-of-the-art for AR/VR products.Our internships are twelve (12) to sixteen (16) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.

Research Intern, Wireless New Technology Research (PhD) Responsibilities:

  • Working with wireless and cross functional teams to develop new wireless technologies
  • Responsible for researching, developing and prototyping antennas in AR/VR devices
  • Develop demonstrations to cross-functional teams
  • Communicate results to a wide range of audiences

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in Antenna Technology
  • Experience in radio-frequency techniques
  • Experience in electromagnetic simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, or equivalent
  • Familiar with transparent antenna technologies for metaverse devices
  • Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Millimeter-wave antenna design skillset
  • Ability to communicate complex research in a clear, concise and actionable manner
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications
  • Familiarity with VR, MR, or AR platforms
  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship
