At Stary, an innovative indie game development studio, we're driven by our passion for crafting immersive mixed reality games. With a dedicated team of two core members and additional contributors, we've made remarkable strides in the gaming world. Our creations, the Alien Invasion AR FPS and Urban Combat AR FPS, have captivated players across Meta Quest and mobile platforms, featuring cross-platform play. We've achieved over 1,000 Monthly Active Users (MAU) without formal marketing efforts in just seven weeks post-launch. Now, as we gear up for the release of our paid version on Meta Quest, we're seeking a dynamic individual to spearhead our marketing and community engagement initiatives.
Role overview:
As a Co-Founder and Head of Outreach and Sales, you will be a key player in driving our studio's growth, revenue and overall success. Your role will involve evangelizing our games, building and nurturing our player community, and directly driving our marketing strategies and sales. This role is ideal for hard-working individuals who are keen on building their own startup while maintaining their day job. Your responsibilities:
- Game Evangelization & Growth: Engage with streamers, journalists, and potential publishers to promote our games. The objective is to continue drive user growth (measured by MAU) and gradually drive revenues as we start selling the paid version of the game for Meta Quest (measured by sales per month and dollar contribution). This is the most important function.
- Community Engagement: Develop and manage our player community, primarily through Discord and other channels. The objective is to drive user engagement (measured by % of users who completed at least 3 missions or matches in the month)
- Feedback Loop Management: Facilitate user feedback to the technical team. The objective is to continuously increase activation & early engagement (measured by % of users who complete a match or a mission at the first launch and % of players who recommend or invite another player to the game)
- Creative & Marketing: Assist in creating promotional materials like videos, assets, and optimize web pages.

An ideal candidate needs to meet these criteria:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in game marketing and sales,
- Industry connections: Has existing industry contacts on streamers, gaming media and potentially publishers.
- Proven abilities to deliver: Can clearly demonstrate and outline how to achieve the objectives described in the responsibilities section.
- Values: Independent, open-minded, honest, direct. Driven by love of gaming, continuous learning. Not driven by greed and get-rich-quick mindset
- Lean startup: Realistic, systematic, and patient. Comfortable with rapid experimentation. Proven experience with Lean Startup process is a bonus
- Based in the USA, Canada, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand or Singapore highly preferred due to the proximity with our audience and local aspect of the game
- VR experience is a bonus
