The result was the 2020 genre-defining hit The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. We are currently working on several highly anticipated VR games for emerging platforms that we can’t wait for you to play.

Skydance Interactive is seeking an experienced VP Executive Producer to direct game development and publishing across various platforms. This position requires a seasoned professional who can seamlessly blend financial acumen with strategic operational planning to drive the success of our game development projects.

As the Executive Producer, you will manage Skydance Interactive’s internal and external game development processes, VR development across various platforms from both a business and publishing perspective. In partnering with both internal and external studios, your goals will be to manage development from concept through release, ensuring the delivery of high quality and engaging games that achieve financial and schedule goals. This entails day-to-day involvement with the development teams and key publishing stakeholders throughout all phases of development, including pre-production, production, submission, and release. This is an opportunity for an experienced EP to drive key internal development and franchise/publishing initiatives, solidifying SDI’s position as the leading VR game developer.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning:
  • Analyze the VR game market opportunities and lead studio leadership to create plans and product strategy for key Skydance IP and IP partnerships. Work with Business Development, Marketing and Creative to deliver commercially viable product roadmap to Skydance executive team and partners.
  • Assess talent/resources to develop plans that fulfill Studio strategy.
  • Production Operations:
  • Leads or contributes to gate review process for all game projects, working collaboratively with Studio team to shape product positioning, features and execution plans.
  • Oversee the entire project portfolio, ensuring projects are aligned with the studio's strategic goals
  • Evaluate and prioritize projects based on financial viability and strategic impact
  • Develop comprehensive financial plans for game development projects, considering production costs, marketing expenses, and revenue streams.
  • Manage a team of producers to track game development with internal / external studios across all projects throughout their lifecycle, overseeing the review, approval and feedback of milestone submissions and ensuring that the projects are within budget, scope ad timeline.
  • Maintain the project P&L, optimize costs and efficiencies throughout development and provide analysis and reporting to production and executive leadership
  • Monitor and hold teams accountable to project budgets, identify risks, and collaborate with Studio leadership and drive proactive solutions to stay within financial constraints.
  • Set clear project milestones and deadlines, and actively manage progress to achieve timely delivery.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams, external partners, and executive leadership, providing regular updates on project status, financial performance, and potential risks.
  • Team Management:
  • Manage, coach and develop staff to ensure growth and expand the talent base
  • Create a culture that promotes collaboration, continuous feedback, support and empowerment.
  • Set clear goals for the team and hold employees accountable for deliverables; recognize and reward employees for strong performance


Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Executive Producer in internal game development who delivers projects to quality, on time and budget.
  • 15+ years of experience in the gaming industry (in a production role); full lifecycle experience developing and operating PC or console games; experience with VR games a plus.
  • Proven experience shipping games that are both on time and on budget
  • Track record of budget, project and people management, with direct leadership experience within a scaled and distributed organization.
  • Strong business/financial acumen and understanding of current business models in gaming, with knowledge of project financing and project resourcing.
  • Must have experience managing both core internal and external development teams
  • The ability to identify risks early and often and suggest mitigation strategies that are thought through and take into account multiple paths to a solution.
  • Experience identifying the strengths and weakness in a game and knowing when to marshal resources to lean into strengths or address weaknesses.
  • Facilitator who clear roadblocks in front of your team or the development team
  • Able to juggle competing priorities and timelines
  • Able to break down impossible tasks and make them possible through ingenuity, creativity, and effort.


The salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $200,000 – $250,000. The salary offered may vary based on the candidate’s location, qualifications, experience and relevant expertise, among other factors. The range indicated is for base salary only and does not reflect the total compensation package, including bonus, benefits, etc.
