The Virtual Reality Specialist will drive ConMet’s virtual and augmented reality initiative while for our Industry 4.0 team. This role requires working closely with all eleven manufacturing facilities and corporate office. Occasion travel (less than 25%) is expected as per project needs. This highly visible role will support our efforts to improve training, product development , and application of digital twins.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expert( SME) for virtual and augmented reality technology. Research and apply technology for business needs.
  • Apply virtual reality to business needs and applications such as remote walks, tours, employee training, product development, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and digital twin applications.
  • Research technology with good payback suitable to our organization needs.
  • Create standard operating procedures for usage of virtual and augmented reality applications. Train all people to use this technology as needed.
  • Vendor selection and project management for selected technology.


 Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’ degree in any field with minimum 6 years of experience. Or associate degree with minimum 10 years of working in technological field.
  • Experience in working in a high pace production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying virtual reality technology, at least in one type of technology.
  • Able to facilitate cross functional meetings and training sessions in-person and virtually.
  • Basic level understanding of Project Management practices and exposure to project tracking tools MS Project, Smart Sheet or any other industry known software.
  • Able to organize documentation, plan activities, and manage multiple priorities in timely manner.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Preferred)

  • Manufacturing process knowledge including ferrous and non-ferrous foundries, machining, robotic and manual material handling, and various assembly methods.
  • Adaptability: Adapts well to changes in assignments and priorities; adapts behavior or work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles; approaches change positively and adjusts behaviors accordingly.
