The Role

Dark Slope is hiring an experienced Producer to help us build an exciting VR title in Unreal for the Meta Quest 3! Our ideal candidate is passionate about games and is an excellent collaborator, with experience in a lead production role.

We are looking for an individual with exceptional organization and communication abilities, who understands the Game Development life cycle, who can work with the team to break down the work and sequence it to ensure achievable expectations, and who is able to find creative solutions within existing constraints.

This role will partner with the Production Manager and Game Director, liaise with internal/external partners and vendors, and be the grease and the glue for our development team, supporting and guiding their way to delivering our next amazing VR gameplay experience!

This is a full-time, permanent, remote position. The ideal candidate is located in Ontario, or able to align working hours with EST to maximize collaborative opportunity.

Core Responsibilities

• Build strong client relationships
• Partner with the Production Manager/team to build and maintain efficient processes (such as standups, planning, and reviews) and manage Jira projects and Confluence spaces
• Support internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating information to and from interested parties
• Develop and maintain project budget; make decisions based on costs and benefits
• Foster a positive, collaborative and creative culture within the studio and team
• Manage relationships with partners and be able to speak to resource plans & schedule as they relate to and support the design vision
• Liaise with the QA team to ensure best practices are applied in the testing of software
• Support the development of internal and external progress reports and presentations
• Manage the workforce planning, hiring and development of the team
• Contribute ideas, improvements and solutions to the team, product, and studio
  
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Producer or Associate Producer in the games industry
• Strong organizational, leadership and project management skills
• Ability to be positive and solutions-oriented in the face of conflict
• Ability to proactively identify risks and create mitigation plans
• Understanding of how to work effectively in an environment with diverse personalities and work styles, including previous experience working with clients
• Ability to take initiative and establish priorities
• Experience implementing new/improved processes, managing workflows and ensuring teams have what they need to succeed
• Strong knowledge of project management software including Jira, Confluence, Word and Excel

• Experience with VR or AR production processes or VR/AR in general
