Towards this goal, we invest in the development of new-to-the-world hardware and software products and technologies, from smaller efforts providing incremental improvements to large multi-year bets with significant technology, schedule, scalability, and cost risks. As a TED Tech Strategy Lead for RL Devices, you will support the Technology Engineering for Devices organization building future generations of Quest, Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and AR/VR products. You will drive one or more strategic initiatives across multiple product teams and orgs, working closely with engineering leaders in hardware development, product architecture, research, machine perception, and software, and product and program management. We are looking for individuals who have experience in technology or product development both in-house and with external partners, and who have the breadth and depth of knowledge to drive the technical choices and direction of all the phases of the product development process.

TED Technology Strategy Lead Responsibilities:

• In partnership with program and product management, influence and drive high-quality, durable decisions and efficient execution both within the TED org and with partner teams
• Simplify and distill the value proposition or rationale of product decisions, including reuse/partner/build decisions
• Improve cross-functional and cross-org engagement in partnership with technical program management
• Be a key member on post-mortem reviews and ensure learnings from current generation products are documented and applied to future products
• Collaborate with technology teams and cross functional partners to create and document a cohesive technology plan across all components and roadmap for multiple generations of the product
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in cross-functional and executive communications and presentations
• BS/MS in Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science
• 10+ years of experience in strategy, product development, and/or business management of advanced technologies
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, and/or MBA
• Technology portfolio management experience
• Experience in the full product life cycle with new-to-the-world products in AR/VR or similar consumer-focused areas
• Experience in a consumer focused technology company
• Experience working with partnerships teams and external partners at both a supply base and product level
• Experience building 0->1 products, platform/ecosystem products, or marketplaces
