Description
The Sound Design Organization is a centralized team that touches nearly every product that our company produces. We collaborate with product and creative teams across the company to design audio for video, post-production audio, final mixing and mastering, audio field recording, sound effects, and large scale content projects across a wide range of software and hardware, including but not limited to your phone, glasses, VR headsets a mix of AR/MR across these devices. We're a team of over 60 audio experts who design the experiences that connect people through the power of sound.
As a Sound Designer, you must have a passion for sound, and a demonstrated history of sound design for interactive and immersive experiences. You will be an instrumental part in the day-to-day sound design across product audio experiences. Candidates must also have the ability to collaborate closely with other team members and cross-functional product teams, as well as provide creative feedback. Strong communication skills are required.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Create world-class sound design for immersive AR/VR and MR experiences
- Collaborate closely with all partners to determine scope of work, planning and execution of sound design and implementation
- Gain a deep understanding of product voice in order to maintain quality and leverage existing content for product consistency and efficiency
- Prepping and testing for implementation accuracy as well as collaborating with internal and external team members to address bugs and optimize sounds in the product
Qualifications
- 5+ years creating sonic experiences for products in mobile, hardware, and non-traditional or immersive environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Expert in Pro Tools and/or other professional DAW's
- Experience designing audio for family-friendly product experiences
- Able to manage, scope, and communicate project milestones and deliverables with third-party vendors
- Experience creating original sound design for high-profile products
- Experience testing implementation of sounds
- Experience working with and creating SFX/Foley/Dialog/Music
- Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Time-management and organizational skills to meet delivery specifications and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Mobile and AR audio experiences (preferably Spark)
- Experience in designing audio for AR and VR experiences
- Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal)
- Experience with AR design tools (Spark, Snap Studio)
- Experience implementing audio for (Unity, Unreal and/or Spark)
- Experience with audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD)
- Ability to record in a studio and on location
- Post-production skills, including editing and mastering
- Knowledge of acoustics, equipment set ups and calibration
- Ability to mix in a variety of formats, including spatial audio
- Video editing skills (Premier Pro, Final Cut, Avid, etc)
